Stuart Town is steeped in history going back to the Gold fever days the local town was known as Ironbarks made famous by Banjo Patterson's poem 'The Man From Ironbarks'. Talk to the locals and they can tell you stories for example when 'Ben Hall' and his associates robbed a wine shanty at Mookerawa. Stuart Town has an open air museum. Wellington is not far away and has The Wellington Boot racing carnival and a Vintage Fair and Swap Meet held the first week end in March every year. Wellington Markets are held on the fourth Saturday of every month from 9 am to 1 pm
