Our accommodations

This is the most expensive park in Nambucca. It is a Top Tourist park but we were left with a bitter taste in our mouths as soon as we booked it. We booked on line putting in the comments section our Top Tourist membership number. It charged us the full amount of stay. When we arrived, we told when we showed our TT card that sorry we don't give membership discount when booking on line. So we sent Top Tourist head office an email and they said that was crap and we should have got our discount refunded on arrival. We arrived on the Thursday with our car and caravan and my sister was to arrive the following day. We booked 2 sites next to each other and we were told we were lucky to get that because the park was fully booked. HUH! There was 15 powered sites empty all weekend so did all these people not show up? I don't think so! Then we were given our site number, C8. We found that there was a motor home on C8 so we put our van K8 thinking they may have made a mistake. We told the office of their mistake and they allowed us to stay where we were and booked the site next to us for my sister. So ok that's was all sorted. On the Sat night we decided to have a BBQ over at the BBQ hut which had 4 BBQs. Some other people came to have a BBQ and it was soon apparent that only 2 of 4 BBQs were working! One of the other guests rang the office and was told cant do anything about it until Monday. So there was a line up of people waiting for the remaining BBQS that worked!!! There is however 4 more BBQs in the nearby camp kitchen that soon filled up. Later that night there was much singing and noise coming from the BBQ hut from some drunk guests who had too much to drink. They finally went to bed but at 2.30 another mob decided to have a party there. They were told by us to shut up but we were ingnored. We tried to find a after hours complaints phone number but it there was none on our park map and information we were given. So we had a crap nights sleep. Next day when we left we went to tell the office what we thought of the place and we were told the after hours number is on the boom gate key. HUH!!! There is no boom gate key because the gates have been out of order for 9 months!! We were told the was a new manager who has taken over the park and is trying to fix it up. While in the park other guests had simular complaints and some of the permanents said that since Active Parks have their name on the park the park has gone down hill. Sadly this park is in a great location. It had lovely modern amenities ($5 per wash washing machines) Great camp kitchen and BBQ hut with picnic tables, nice pool and small water park for the kids and only minutes walk to the break wall and small beach. We wont be staying here again.

How can an ordinary pensioner afford a holiday at the White Albatross , just to expensive , I have been coming there for 30 odd years & has gone up to much,,Lorraine.

Great park-well maintained though the main toilet blocke servicing the majority of the campsite is only cleaned once a day and by evening there is frequently no toilet paper BYO

We would really love to come back next year same time. I was a little confused with my booking for next year. I understood if we wanted to come again we had first choice of staying at the site next year for the same week however I was told we could not as the previous owners booked before we even got a chance to say we would like to come back again. Hopefully when I call back on the 1st of Feb some good news will come our way.
