Big Brook is a young forest, regenerated after logging in the 1920’s and today, stands as an impressive example of a rejuvenated karri forest with a number popular visitor attractions. Big Brook Dam is one of the most picturesque places in karri country with views across the dam to the forest.
Dogs on leads are permitted, but not around the beach area or in the water.
Big Brook Arboretum has an ‘open’ campground (without separated individual camp sites) that can accommodate tents, campervans, camper trailers and caravans. Picnic tables, barbecues and toilets are provided. Campsites are not bookable and operate on a first come first served basis. Rates are: adult $7.50, concession $5.50 and child (6-15yrs) $2.20 per night.
A park entry fee of $12 ($6 concession) per vehicle applies at many of the other popular national parks near Big Brook. Many visitors appreciate the savings and convenience of purchasing either a four week Holiday Pass or Annual All Parks Pass online at Shop.dpaw.wa.gov.au/ before their trip.

Special Events

Enjoy a picnic by the water’s edge or enjoy swimming or fishing in the dam (You must observe fishing regulations. Licences are available from any Australia Post office, Department of Fisheries office or online).
The sealed four kilometre long Big Brook Dam Walk Track follows the shores of the dam allowing stroller and wheelchair access, and is ideal for cycling.
The Big Brook Dam Arboretum is a popular attraction with trees from around the world. Visitors can explore this area via boardwalks through Warren River cedar natives and ending at a 300-year-old giant karri known as Big Karri.
